Man On Wire

dir. James Marsh, 94 mins, 2008 (UK/USA)

Very engaging film describing the "artistic crime of the century", in which tightrope walker Philippe Petit traverses a wire between the two towers of the World Trade Center. The plan is scarcely believable and the tension in the build-up to the stunt is built up nicely. The climax is dreamlike and completely mesmerising, while the backdrop has an obvious poignancy. ****
